Are You Ready for the New Emergency Preparedness Regulations?

September 14, 2017
2:00 PM

November 15 is the compliance deadline to implement the requirements outlined in CMS’ new Emergency Preparedness rule. The detailed guidance has a significant impact on nursing home providers, but the final rule applies to all service providers participating in Medicare or Medicaid programs.

This webinar will provide an overview of the requirements, including the use of an “all hazards” approach to integrated emergency preparedness planning.

  • Consider ways to use the Hazard Vulnerability Assessment to establish a more coordinated response to natural and man-made disasters.
  • Discuss how to develop effective emergency preparedness policies, procedures and communication plans.
  • Understand the importance of frequent testing to identify areas of risks and ensure adequate planning for emergencies.
